2-1-1 is now available almost everywhere in Tompkins County!
You can now reach our Information and Referral service (I&R) by
dialing 2-1-1 on all Tompkins County land lines as well as Time Warner Cable phones. The following cell phone companies now provide 2-1-1 connectivity in Tompkins County: Sprint, Nextel, AT&T Wireless, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless (others will be available soon). Vonage Phone users must subscribe to Vonage's 9-1-1 service in order to be able to call 2-1-1 directly (click here for instructions).
I&R/2-1-1 is confidential, non-partisan, non-judgmental,
and non-ideological. 2-1-1 is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week in Tompkins County through our partnership with ABVI Goodwill/2-1-1 Lifeline in Rochester, NY.

Information & Referral
Information and Referral Services (I&R) promotes effective service delivery and efficient
allocation of community resources by maintaining a database of community
information and providing a central telephone information service to bring
people in need together with services designed to address that need. Callers are
provided with community information or referred to service providers according
to their situation.
I&R publishes the Tompkins County Human Services Resource
Directory and Community Services Guide. The public can use the online
Services Directory, backed by the same database our
I&R specialists use to meet our
callers' needs. Agencies may also update their records in our I&R database or in
VolunteerTompkins through our online
Update Form.
